The War In Afghanistan Is Not Over Until Every American Comes Home

Joe Biden and his allies in the Leftist media would like to declare the war in Afghanistan over and move on from the worst American military and diplomatic debacle in living memory.

At various times Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and various senior members of the administration have all refused to answer questions about the aftermath of the defeat and retreat over which they presided and at other times declared victory and even what amounts to a partnership with the Taliban.

But the stink of their defeat just won’t blow away.

Rep. Michael McCaul (TX-10) reported that six planes have been sitting at the Mazar-e-Sharif international airport “for the last couple of days,” information that appears to come from a State Department email to members of Congress.

Online sources also indicate that six planes, three 737 and three airbuses with approximately 2,000 passengers, are stuck in Mazar-e-Sharif.

McCaul claimed that there are hundreds of Americans still waiting for the evacuation from Afghanistan. He further added that not even a single American had been evacuated since US troops left on August 31. He said, “I’ve been given the answer in the classified space, but it’s in the hundreds. We have hundreds of American citizens left behind enemy lines in Afghanistan as I speak. And also, very sadly, the interpreters who worked with our special forces, almost all of them were left behind and were not let in the gates at the airport at HKI [Hamid Karzai International Airport, Kabul] to get out.”

He added, “Obviously, we’re hopeful that, in the coming days, the Qataris will be able to resume air service out of Kabul. And, if they do, we’re obviously going to look to see if Americans can be part of those flights. We are going to find ways to get them — the ones that want to leave, to get them out of Afghanistan. This problem is going to get worse, not better, and it’s — we have left them behind. That’s the basic creed of the military.”

"The Taliban is basically holding them hostage to get more out of the Americans," a senior congressional source told CBS News reporter Christina Ruffini.

Indian news site Opindia reported the “Taliban fired shots in the air in response to massive protests against Pakistan in Kabul. The protesters chanted ‘Death to Pakistan’ and ‘Freedom’ as they marched through the streets. The Jihadis group’s close ties with Pakistan have come under the scanner, with Afghans rising against the new regime for their collaboration.”

The protesters reached the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul, where they raised ‘Death to Pakistan’ slogans, Opindia reported.

One possibility for holding the Americans and the planes hostage in Mazar-e-Sharif is that the Taliban want to make sure that the United States does not aid opponents of the regime, especially Ahmad Masoud and his forces who are holed up in the Panjshir Valley.

Conflicting reports about the fighting (including fake video) have emerged as communications with the remote mountain valley that was home to the Northern Alliance opposition group during the first Taliban epoch have been almost completely cut off.

The social media account of @Sarfaraz1201 (vouched legit by several trusted friends of CHQ) yesterday tweeted:

Nearly 3 days without food and water. We are fighting for our country. Vid is from Rokha last night. Terrorists Taliban targeted civilians. All those who invaded Panjshir will die or surrender. We have blocked Panjshir entrence. All Taliban are trapped in Panjshir.

@Sarfaraz1201 later tweeted:

Intens fighting is still going on. Rokha is back in our control. Hundreds of Taliban are killed. We have also lost some brave fighters. Taliban deliberately targeted civilians. Saleh Sahib & Ahmad Massoud are safe here in Panjshir. I will provide updates as I am able to.

Our trusted friend Sara Carter reported video from Panjshir shows fighting continued into the night - As Resistance continued to battle the advancing Taliban, Extremists fighters.. Hearing Pakistan ISI and commandos have been directly helping Taliban, according to sources.

And social media reports indicate the Taliban are attacking Panjshir with their usual ferocity. @natiqmalikzada reported:

I was informed a few moments ago that my uncle (mother brother) was killed today by Taliban in #Panjshir among 100 of other innocent people. Today, Taliban have carried out a massacre in Panjshir. INSHA'ALLAH these evils will be punished for their actions in worst possible way.

The National Resistance Front's spokesperson @alinazary denies the Taliban have captured the Panjshir valley and told BBC correspondent and host of BBC World News' Impact with Yalda Hakim, “Commander Ahmad Massoud and others are all inside Afghanistan…he will never leave his country”.

@mebtikar likewise reported: Just spoke with a cousin. They’re killing the families of anyone who is in the resistance in Panjshir. Thus far more than 50 members of families, men, women, and children have been killed. They’re showing brute force to silence the resistance.

As @AlinejadMasih tweeted: In Afghanistan, despite the West's lack of interest, the opposition is resisting the Taliban. They're based in the #Panjshir valley and their ranks are slowly growing. They vow to take their country back from radical terrorists. Spread their word and support them. #SavePanjshir

The war in Afghanistan won’t be over until every American comes home, but thanks to Joe Biden’s disastrous cut and run departure it is entirely possible that the price for bringing the next group of Americans home will be another surrender to the Taliban and abandoning the last remnant of Afghanistan’s pro-Western forces holed up in the Panjshir Valley.
