Our new friend S.A. McCarthy, writing for The Washington Stand, recently broke the story that the Centers for Disease Control have released guidance for men identifying as
transgender on how to breastfeed and insisting on using the “inclusive” (or insane, take your pick) term “chestfeeding.”
The CDC released advice this week for men taking hormones to grow breasts, explaining, “Transgender and nonbinary-gendered individuals may give birth and breastfeed or feed at the chest (chestfeed).” The CDC also gave some examples of alternative terminology for breastfeeding to cater to those identifying as transgender, “such as nursing, chestfeeding, or bodyfeeding.”
It has been known for a long time that men suffering from various diseases can produce breast secretions and there is one documented case of a man suffering from galactorrhea and hyperprolactinaemia producing breast secretions within the range of colostrum and milk obtained from normal lactating women.
Mr. McCarthy reported the guidance is drawing criticism from doctors who note that the hormone drugs taken by men wanting to “chestfeed” may be dangerous for the baby being fed. Indeed, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned that at least one of the hormone drugs frequently used “can pass into breast milk in small amounts and can sometimes give babies an irregular heartbeat as a result.” Dr. Jane Orient, executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, told the Daily Mail that “we have no idea what the long-term effects on the child will be. … The CDC has a responsibility to talk about the health risks, but they have been derelict in doing that.”
This latest CDC guidance follows a growing trend under the Biden administration, as the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which manages the CDC, has increased focus on LGBT issues. Last month, HHS hosted a Pride Summit to celebrate all things homosexual and transgender, and assistant HHS secretary Rachel Levine, a man originally named Richard who identifies as transgender, asserted that Pride Month isn’t enough, saying, “Let’s declare it a summer of Pride,” reported Mr. McCarthy.
The ”chestfeeding” debate has been going on for several years, it is only with this latest CDC guidance that the conservative popular media – if FOX can still be called conservative – has taken notice.

However, @Advo_Katy – Katy Faust Founder of the @ThemBeforeUs child advocacy group may have put it best:
Executive director of the conservative Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Jane Orient told The Daily Mail, “The CDC has a responsibility to talk about the health risks, but they have been derelict in doing that.”
She also said “we have no idea what the long-term effects on the child will be” if trans parents are using “all kinds of off-label hormones,” meaning drugs that are being used in a different purpose than for which they were intended.
Dr. Stuart Fischer, a New York-based internal medicine physician, told the Daily Mail that it is “very hard to believe” that the breast milk naturally-occurring in a biological female is the same as the breast milk induced in a biological man.
He is also noted it is uncertain how the latter form of breast milk would affect infants, asking, “If it’s been tested a handful of times, how would we know the long-range effect? The short-term is one thing, but the long-term in terms of physical and mental illness…”
“It’s an emerging field, to put it mildly,” Fischer added, according to reporting by The New York Post.
So, just to clarify how truly insane this “chestfeeding” business is: The CDC is giving guidance on how to use drugs that have known dangers for children to mentally ill adults to replicate the conditions of a man suffering from galactorrhea and hyperprolactinaemia, so that the man can produce breast secretions that pass the harmful drug to the child being “chestfed.”
At some point – we would suggest we are well past it – Americans must stand up and demand their government stop enabling people to act out their mental illness at taxpayer expense.
