The Donald Trump – Tucker Carlson interview started out for us on a sour note as we couldn’t connect to the Twitter or X server for about five minutes. However, once we connected Trump was on fire. Just as we popped in President Trump referred to Chris Christie as a “savage lunatic.” What could be a better lead?
Next, Tucker Carlson asked: “Why aren’t you at the Fox News debate tonight in Milwaukee?”
President Trump: “Well, you know, a lot of people have been asking me that, and many people said ‘you shouldn’t do them,’ but you see the polls have come out and I’m leading by 50 and 60 points and some of [my rivals] are at 1 and 0 and do…and I’m saying, do I sit there…and get harassed by people who shouldn’t even be running for President? Should I be doing that? At a network that isn’t particularly friendly to me, frankly?... But, I just felt it would be more appropriate not to do the debate; I don’t think it would be right to do the debate…and I’ve taken a pass.”
Trump later referred to a GOP debate that Chris Wallace moderated during the 2020 general election, telling Tucker, Wallace was “probably not a friend of yours” while the two were at Fox together.
“No,” Carlson said. “Not a friend.”
“He wants to be Mike [Wallace], but he doesn’t have the talent,” Trump said in reference to Wallace’s father, who was also a veteran television news journalist.
“Bitchy little man,” Carlson said in reference to Chris Wallace. “He’s a fussy little man.”
Trump being Trump says they [the American people] like my policies but some say the don’t like me – I think they like me.
Tucker asks: “Do you think the rest of the world looks on at Biden and thinks someone else has gotta be running the government?”
President Trump: “Well, somebody else has to be. I don’t think he’s capable of doing anything.”
Later says, Biden walking on toothpicks, can’t make it through the sand at the beach, can’t pick up a beach chair.

Tucker asks: “Do you have a preference in who you run against?”
President Trump: “In many ways, I’d love to run against [Biden] because his record is so bad. You know, it’s still horrible when you look at inflation and everything else. But others also have very bad records. I mean, California’s a bad record, so should it be Gavin [Newsom] or somebody else…”

Tucker asks: “I’m looking at the trajectory since 2015 when you got into politics, for real…it started with protests against you—massive, organized protests by the left—and then it moved to impeachment—twice, and now indictment. I mean, the next stage is violence. Are you worried that they’re going to try and kill you? Why WOULDN'T they try and kill you? Honestly!
President Trump: “They’re savage animals. They are people that are sick—really sick. You have great people in the Democrat Party, you have great people that are Democrats…most of the people in our Country are fantastic, and I’m representing everybody…but I’ve seen the lengths that they go to…these people are sick people. These are people that, I think they hate our Country, if you want to know the truth.”

In my opinion Mike Pence had the absolute right to send them back to the legislatures… we had some lawyers who said he had the right to send them back to the state to be checked.
